One thing that bothers me about all this recent stuff about Juan Williams, is that there seems to be more, pandering (I use this word so I can work through my thoughts on this issue) when it comes to Muslims and Islam than before. I mean, can you honestly say that Hollywood would get away with the opening scene in Naked Gun (1988) today? Lets not forget Molly Norris, the cartoonist who has had to go into hiding because of the assassination threats on her life for the “Draw Mohammed Day”. It seems like no one can make a comment about Muslims now…without fear of being called a bigot, or more importantly, without fear of having some “Radical Muslim Terrorist” put a “hit” out on you… It is all too disturbing.
This clip is so funny, and to think that this movie came out the year I graduated from high school. At that time people like Sting were recording protest songs like “Russians” about the Cold War and the Nukes. I do not think that any protest songs about the Radical Muslim Terrorist, who are a real threat, could be made in todays PC climate.
